Job Profile

We are seeking an experienced Digital Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing digital solutions for our customers manufacturing operations. This will involve understanding the variables and variation in existing manufacturing processes, developing propositions for future state solutions, developing new solutions, and integrating digital systems into existing manufacturing processes including; instrumentation selection and deployment, undertaking Measurements Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gauge Repeatability & Reliability and data handling and outputting (usually via customer hosted cloud services). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering principles, and experience in the development of digital solutions for manufacturing operations. You should have a solid understanding of computer networks, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with digital and instrumentation systems. You should also have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

• Develop and implement digital solutions for manufacturing operations including data handling, data security, sensor selection, installation management, calibration.

• Design, install, and maintain digital systems and networks.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new products or modify existing products to meet customer needs and project requirements.
  • Conduct effective research and feasibility studies to identify potential design concepts and solutions.

The Project Data Lead will form a part of the growing PMO team which is responsible for the PurpleSector Project Delivery processes, project data, project governance and reporting. This role will be central in defining the future of project management within PurpleSector and will have a passion for pioneering technology and processes within the field.

The Project Data Lead is responsible for overseeing data collection, management, analysis, and reporting for all projects. Working closely with all stakeholders, they will ensure that data is effectively utilized to support project objectives, foster continuous improvement, and drive informed decision-making.

  • Drawing upon knowledge of the latest PLM and AI toolsets to help define and implement a standard toolset for PurpleSector that supports our Project Management strategy.
  • Develop and implement data management plans including data collection, storage, analysis, and reporting processes.

You will work with in a cross functional team with our data scientists & simulation engineers to develop data visualisation methods & simulation / analysis tools, and incorporate these into our engineering toolset using current best thinking & practices.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership for one or two frontend dashboards which visualise real time data.
  • You will work on the design themes tweaking existing material as well as introducing your own colour palettes and developing custom components and taking ownership of component workflow.
  • Develop high-quality web tools & apps using a range of languages & frameworks, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, React, Dash etc.
  • Collaborate & work closely within a multi-disciplinary team to understand user requirements for the toolsets, generate & communicate ideas and concepts for implementation, and then deliver & iterate products to the end users
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and design trends.

Requirements

Job Profile

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Operational Excellence team to help in the development of software, data analytics solutions and tools to support our engineering, data science and simulation projects and teams.

This role will require you to work across the engineering team to define innovative engineering solutions and then deliver the full stack of software tools that underpin them. You will be responsible for developing our software from back-end services through web front-end. Ideally you will help with infrastructure supporting the development of the platform utilising AWS and associated services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and create web-apps to effectively communicate analytics and insights.
  • Develop tool and services to automate data ingestion, processing, and enrichment to support data science activities
  • Develop web applications and tools and contribute to the build out of AWS platform environments
  • Create modular, reusable and scalable solutions to drive new insights across data sources and industries.

Key skills

  • A strong understanding of engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience of developing user interfaces and data visualisations using Python, React or similar
  • Experience developing back-end services ideally using Python and Node.js
  • Experience in building API’s ideally with GraphQL
  • Experience in setting up AWS environments and services, ideally with AWS CDK or Terraform.
